Frederick Dean “Dink” Dishman, 86, of Glen Dale, W.Va., passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale.
He was born June 6, 1928, a son of the late John and Bertha Dishman. He retired from the Iron Workers Local 549, Wheeling, and was a member of the Washington Lands United Methodist Church and the Masonic Marshall Union Lodge No. 8, Moundsville, W.Va.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Delores Martin and Betty Strait.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Betty (Guthrie) Dishman; three children, Janet Hackett and her husband, Douglas of Wheeling, and Frederick S. Dishman and Pam Doty, both of Moundsville; seven siblings, James C. Dishman of Greenville, Pa., Phyllis Houston of Vienna, Ohio, Peggy Mason of Leavittsburg, Ohio, Mary Garrison of Concord, Ohio, Johnny Dishman of Cameron, W.Va., Saralou West and her husband, James of Tampa, Fla., and Ronnie Dishman of Cameron; three grandchildren, Cortney Hackett of Tampa, Fla., and Eric and Justin Doty of Moundsville; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Tuesday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014, with the Rev. Gregory Blair officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
