GRACE WOOFTER

Grace L. Woofter, 66, of Porter Falls, WV, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, August 20, 2014 surrounded by loving family at her home after a lengthy illness of ALS.

She was born September 21, 1947 in Smithfield, WV, the daughter of the late James D. and Myrtle L. Whaley Price.

Grace was a member of the New Martinsville Church of God, in which she was active in the clothing closet and house cleaning. Grace was a giving and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy and Christopher, six brothers, Arch, Wilbert, Dick, Jimmy, Lonnie and Kenny, four sisters, Idamay, Audra, Pearl and Alice.

Surviving is her husband, George, whom she married December 31, 1964, a daughter, Mary (Tim) Haynes of Handford City, WV, a son, Gary (Tammy) Woofter of New Martinsville, eleven grandchildren, Jon, Jessica (Len), Luke, Garrett, Cody, Timmy (Miranda), Chris, D.J., Rebecca (Dominic), Corey and Ashley, five great-grandchildren, Maryssa, Christie, Kaylup, Wyatt and Paten, five sisters, Katherine (Bill) Anderson, Anna Edgell, Gladys (Paul) Ash, Patsy (Ed) Leggett and Violet (Bill) Floyd, three sister-in-laws, Bernice (Greg) Nichols, Joyce (Ross) Moore and Julia Rife, a brother-in-law, Ernest (Candy) Woofter and many nieces and nephews.

Grace will not only be missed by her loving family but many people who knew her for her beautiful smile, contagious laughter and her ability to make others laugh even when they felt like crying. Grace lived for her family, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The moment you met Grace you were a part of her family. She would do whatever she could to help you and make you feel loved.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, WV. Funeral services will be held at the New Martinsville Church of God on Monday, August 25, 2014 at 1 p.m. with a viewing from noon until the time of services at 1 p.m. Interment is at Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville, WV.
