Hazel Mae Ralbusky, 81, of Sherrard passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014. She was surrounded by her family and friends at home.

Hazel was born February 20, 1933, in Wheeling WV, to the late Lee and Rose Scott. Preceded in death by her beloved husband Michael Francis Ralbusky of 64 years. Her siblings, Rosemary Hickman, Bob Scott, Edna Yochum, Bill Scott, Jerry Scott, and Charolette Burkhart.

She volunteered at the Wheeling senior center for five years and was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church where she belonged to the women’s church group. She was a great sponsor of veterans and Catholic charities. For 23 years she was a military wife and traveled across the globe with her husband and children, from the Philippines to Guam.

She was an intelligent woman who worked hard her entire life and asked for little in return while helping others frequently. Hazel enjoyed reading and was often not afraid to speak her mind on matters. She adored simply sitting on her front porch and watching the birds in her yard. She also liked to take long walks and took pleasure in the summer and spring.

She was survived by one sister, Angela McAfee of Wheeling. Her children, Michael and Billy Ralbusky of Letart, WV, Dana Ralbusky and fiance David McDevitt of Hancock, Maine, Denise Scott of Rockland, Maine, and Scott and Carla Ralbusky of Wheeling, WV. She leaves behind eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She also had numerous nieces and nephews. And her beloved friends Beverly Baker of Wheeling, WV, Patty Kleinedler of Sherrard, WV, James and Jimmy Pennybaker of Florida, along with too many more to mention.

Friends will be received at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1400 Eoff Street Wheeling, on Monday, September 1, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with Fr.
