Lloyd Michael Swanson, 48, of Morgantown passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.

Lloyd was born on April 18, 1966, in Iron Mountain Michigan to Norman William and Marie Catherine Visintainer Swanson of New Martinsville, WV.

One of Lloyd’s greatest passions was hunting. He thoroughly enjoyed preparing for opening season, with great enthusiasm and anticipation. Lloyd spent many happy hours with friends, Jeff Montgomery and his family and Matt Brown and others in the woods, hunting.

Over the years, he also enjoyed fishing and went on various trips with his brothers and friends. Lloyd was also a talented artist, carving ducks and other woodworking in intricate detail.

Lloyd was always a blessing to his family and others. He enjoyed visiting with people and serving them as a manager at Chick-fil-a on Patteson Dr.

In addition to his parents, those left behind to cherish his memory include his brothers, Sam Swanson and wife Nancy Windes, of Cincinnati, OH and David Swanson of Glouster, OH; his twin sister, Lisa Druge and husband Tom, of Morgantown, WV; and three nieces, Marla DeVault, Katie Swanson, and Fiona Druge. Lloyd often spoke of friends, Kristin Francais and Dave and Pam Harris, with fondness and graditude for the support they provided throughout his journey.
