MARIE VALENTINE

Marie Sass Valentine, 85, of Wheeling died Wednesday, August 13, 2014, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home.

She was born August 14, 1928 in Clarksville, PA, a daughter of the late Julius and Mary Sass.

Marie was a homemaker and a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. Marie was a kind hearted woman; a loving mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother. She was well known for her excellent cooking and wonderful family dinners.

A quote that best sums up her life is “A heart is not judged by how much you love but how much you are loved by others.” She will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Albert Valentine in 2007; two sisters, Margaret Harsany, Thelma Downs; and two brothers, Julius Sass Jr., and Carl Sass.

Surviving are her three children; Albert “Mel” Valentine and his wife Brenda, David Valentine and Barbara Valentine, all of Wheeling, two sisters; Esther Kosar of Weirton, Elizabeth Hoye and her husband, Robert of Belpre, OH; four grandchildren, Bridget Valentine, Brian Valentine and his wife Brittney, Travis and Rachael Valentine; and a great-grandson, Chase Valentine.

Friends will be received on Monday, August 18, from 11 a.m. until time of memorial services at noon at the Bishops Chapel, Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Rev. Judy Liston officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum.
