Mathilde “Teel” Loker Blust, 73, of Coshocton, OH, entered eternal life on Saturday, August 23, 2014, with her family at her bedside.
Teel was born in Dayton, OH, on February 23, 1941, to the late Ralph and Mathilde Loker.
She was raised in Muncie, Indiana, and graduated from Muncie Burris High School in 1959. Growing up, she enjoyed being a Way Cross Camp Counselor, playing field hockey and volunteering on Indian Reservations.
Teel graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation and later graduated from Kent State University with a Master’s Degree in Education. She worked the majority of teaching career in River View School District, retiring in 1995.
Teel enjoyed volunteering during her retirement along with playing Bridge with her friends.
Teel is survived by two daughters, Katherine Blust and Kristine (Christopher) Williamson, both of Coshocton; two grandchildren, Kyle John Blust (Kathy) and Olivia Grace Blust (Kristi); two brothers, Leonard Loker of Indianapolis, IN, and Charles (Linda) Loker of Anderson, IN; and multiple nieces and nephews. Teel also leaves behind her two beloved “boys,” Sammie and Black. Teel will be greatly missed by her many friends and old colleagues.
Friends may call at Given Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday, September 14, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. with a Celebration of Life to follow in the chapel at Given Dawson with Pastor Dan Eggan officiating.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Coshocton County or American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
