DONALD STOBBS

TOGETHER AGAIN

Donald W. Stobbs, 95, of Colerain, OH passed away July 22, 2016 at Adena Health Care.

He was born June 21, 1921 in St. Clairsville, OH,  a son of the late Matthew and Lena (Sunderman) Stobbs.  Donald was a retired farmer.

He was a WW II US Navy Pilot stationed in the Aleutian Islands.

He was charter life member of the Colerain VFW Post 8848.   He was a member of Colerain Presbyterian Church, the Colerain Farm Bureau and the Colerain Senior Citizens Center.

He was charter member and founder of the Colerain Volunteer Fire Company.

He was the last surviving member of the Bridgeport Class of 1939.

In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his wife, Edna (Chapman) Stobbs, a WW II veteran; his brothers, M. Bayard Stobbs, Hugh Stobbs, Roy Stobbs, and Leslie Stobbs; and his sisters Emily Lowman, Hester Lash, and Florence Stobbs; and daughter-in-law Jo Ann (Richard) Stobbs.

He is survived by his children; Richard Stobbs of Westerville, Brent (Judy) Stobbs of Reynoldsburg, and Marcelyn (William) Brainerd of Chattanooga, TN; sisters, Doris Morrison and Roberta Mitchell both of Colerain and Barbara McFarland of Granville, OH; and 10 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.

Friends will be received Sunday July 24 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Bridgeport, OH. Friends will also be received Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Colerain Presbyterian Church, Colerain, OH with Rev. Joe Ellis officiating.

Full military graveside honors will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
