PAUL COOEY

Paul E. Cooey, 89, resident of Mozart, Wheeling, WV, died Friday, September 9, 2016, at home.

He was born on June 8, 1927, in Wheeling, son of the late William and Edith Miller Cooey.

Paul worked for the former Cooey-Bentz Company, where he was the carpet department manager and carpet installer. He was also the director for their toyland department.

He was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mozart, and was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Japan. He was a member of the Cave Club, and former member of the Oglebay Park Golf Club. He loved bowling, and was once the WV State Bowling Champion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Arch, Bob and Don Cooey; and sisters, Ruth Beazel and Jackie Kelly.

Surviving are his wife, Neville A. Conrad Cooey; four sons, Gary Cooey (Debbie), Bruce Cooey (Toni), Scott Cooey (Debbie) and Todd Cooey and his fiancee, Jennifer; nine grandchildren, Christy, Suzanne, Tyler, Brian, Justin, Kayla, Sean, Megan and Brittany; and many great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received Sunday, September 11, 2016, from 1-4 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 3545 Jacob Street, Wheeling, WV, 26003.

Services will be held Monday, September 12, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel Richter officiating.

Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
