TED SHUPE

Theodore “Ted” Shupe Jr., 70, of Sistersville, WV, passed away on October 27, 2016, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born September 8, 1946, in Caretta, WV, a son of the late Theodore Roosevelt Shupe Sr. and Rosa Ellen Williams Shupe.

Ted was a retired Transportation/Safety Director for Tyler County Schools. He was a member of the Sistersville First Baptist Church. He was a United States Army veteran, a member of the Sistersville ELKS Lodge #333, a member of the Wetzel Lodge No. 39 A.F. & A.M. and a member of the Beni Kedem Shriners. He was an avid fan of the WVU Mountaineers. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sue Romine Shupe; sons, Chad (Missy) Shupe of Roanoke, VA and Shane (Tabby) Shupe of Fairmont, WV; daughters, Julie (Joe) Zevnik and Amy Shupe Floyd, both of Midlothian, VA; sisters, Shirley Turpin of Siler City, NC and Bonnie Chafin of Carson, VA; and grandchildren, Makena and Riley Shupe, Brooklyn, Mackenzie and Carson Shupe, Lauren and Gabriel Zevnik, and Evan and Sloane Floyd.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jodi Lynne Shupe; brothers, Buford, Herbert and Roger Shupe.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 29, 2016, from 1 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Sistersville, WV with Pastor Darrell Mayfield officiating.
