KEVIN LAUFFER

Kevin Lauffer, 60, passed away on December 1, 2016 in his Shepherdstown home.

Originally from Wheeling, WV, Kevin was born to William and Lillian Lauffer.

Kevin moved to Shepherdstown to attend Shepherd College where he received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Kevin fell in love with the area and it became his forever home.

He is survived by his loving wife, Katheline, his three children, Jessica Acevedo, William and Kathryn Lauffer, his brother, Richard Lauffer, his beloved dogs, Tonka and Tucker, countless nieces, nephews and friends.

Kevin loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, playing cards and watching sports — especially those involving the Cleveland Browns. His quick wit and sarcastic sense of humor uplifted those around him.

A caring and giving soul in life, Kevin will be missed by those who knew him.

The family plans on holding a memorial service in his hometown of Wheeling, West Virginia in January 14, 2017 from 1-3 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul church. They will be spreading his ashes at Spruce Knob in the Monongahela National Forest, his favorite camping spot.

In lieu of flowers, Kevin and his family wishes that donations be made to the National Parks Conservation Association (www. npca.org), to prolong the wonders of our national parks for future generations to cherish.
