GERALD EBERT

Gerald A. Ebert, 85, of Moundsville, died Saturday, February 25, 2017 at home.

He was born October 16, 1931 in Proctor, WV son of the late Edward and Alma Stern Ebert.

Gerald retired from the Marshall County Commission with 21 years of service and Ohio Ferro Alloys of Powhatan Point, OH.

He was a member of the Ash Ave. Church of God, Moundsville, an avid square dancer and sports fan, and enjoyed gardening and working around the house.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife: Dorothy Emery Ebert in 1985; his second wife Jane Ebert in 2008; grandson: Lance Matthew Ebert; one sister: Barbara Jean Yoho and two brothers: Drexel Poe and Norbert Ebert.

Survivors include one son, Allen Ebert of Moundsville; two grandsons: Dylan and Nick Ebert both of Moundsville; two brothers: Ray (Ellen) Ebert and Gary (Dot) Ebert all of New Martinsville; one sister: Patty (Jerry) Heslep of Parkersburg, WV; two step-daughters: Darla Pozell Jackson of Washington, DC and Lisa (Bob) Schultz of Grove City, OH; sister-in-law: Shirley Ebert of New Martinsville; two brothers-in-law: Bill and Mike Emery both of Moundsville; sister-in-law: Eilene Emery of Moundsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville, WV where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor C.J. Plogger officiating.

Interment in Greenlawn Memorial Park, New Martinsville.
