Nancy DeSantis, 85, resident of Wheeling, WV, died Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Valley Haven Geriatric Center, Beech Bottom, WV.

She was born in Wheeling on October 18, 1931, daughter of the late Arch and Mary Keenan Bero.

Nancy was a 1949 graduate of Wheeling High School.

Nancy worked at Gavins, Hazel Atlas, Intermed Data and retired from the Ohio

Valley General Hospital Data Center.

She was a member of St Matthew’s Episcopal Church of Wheeling and was active with the Altar Guild and Food Pantry and the Pancake and Spaghetti Dinners and many otheractivities at the Church. And now she can finally join the Choir as one of their many angelic voices.

Nancy was a gold medal winner when it came to spoiling her granddaughters, nieces and nephews andreally any child that came into her orbit.

Even as the Alzheimers took more of her, we would find her talking to little kids whenever she was near them.

The Family would like to give special thanks to all of the dedicated professionals at Valley Haven Geriatric Center in Beech Bottom and Amedisys Hospice Group in Warwood.

Not only did they treat our Mom with love, kindness and respect, but they also watched over our Dad and our entire family. We cannot thank you enough !

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arch Bero and Robert Bero.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Anthony P. DeSantis; her children, Todd DeSantis and Nancy Scenna and her husband Frank; step-granddaughter, Larissa Scenna; grandchildren, Francesca Scenna and Abrianna Scenna; sister, Margaret Calissie and her husband Lew; sisters-in-law, Margaret Ann Bero and Phyllis Bero; many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Tuesday, March 21, 2017 from 2-8 pm at Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, WV, 26003 (304)-277-2722.

Services will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the Bishop’s Chapel at Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Rev. Mark Seitz officiating.

Interment to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Valley Haven Activities Fund or to the St. Matthew’s Food Pantry.
