HENRY VOGLER

Henry Louis Vogler, Jr. “Bud”, 95, of Wheeling, W.Va., passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017, in Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling.

Bud was born June 16, 1922, in Wheeling, the son of the late Henry L. Vogler, Sr. and Marie (Killeen) Vogler. He was a retired mail carrier for the US Postal Service; a graduate of Wheeling Central Catholic High School, Class of 1940; and a U.S. Navy World War II veteran.

He was also a former member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph and grew up in St. Alphonsus Parish, Wheeling.

In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his four sisters, Sister Mary Angela Vogler, CDP, Mary Catherine Andreas, Irene Dull and Eliza Vogler; and two brothers-in-law, Henry Andreas and James Dull.

Bud is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Margaret Ellen (George) Vogler; three sons, Terry (Ceil) Vogler of Cincinnati, OH, Gary (Barbara) Vogler of Centerville, VA. and Larry (Carol) Vogler of Charles Town, WV; a daughter, Linda (Greg) Frede of Enfield, NH; seven grandchildren, Dr. Sarah Vogler, Christina Daniel, Lindsay (Jared) Jalbert, Chase (Karla) Vogler, Dr. Casey Vogler, Cara Vogler and Gregory (Maureen) Frede; six great-grandchildren, Brian Jalbert, Lila Ruth Jalbert, Kian Vogler, Adelyn Vogler, Cooper Frede and Wyatt Frede; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home Chapel, 159 Edgington Lane, Wheeling, with the Rev. John Beckley as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum, Wheeling, with full military honors provided by the Moundsville Veteran’s Honor Guard.
