Joshua Elwood Gorayeb, 34, of Wheeling, died unexpectedly on June 7, 2017.
Known by his friends as “Josh” or “Gorb,” he was preceded in death by his birth mother, Rebecca Richards, and paternal grandparents Margaret and Bud Gorayeb.
Surviving are his parents, Joe and Claudia Sue Gorayeb; twin brother, Jeremy; sisters, Elizabeth and Kylie; half-brothers, Joey McDonald, Jessie Ray, and Jack Sall; stepchildren, Hailey, Anthony and Cecilia Ullom; as well as many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Josh always had a smile to share. He was a talented athlete; at Wheeling Park High School, he was an All-State wrestler. After high school he became an AAU boxer and earned a brown belt in martial arts. He was an amazing artist who loved to draw and design tattoos.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Remembrance at the Chapel of Mary and Joseph at Wheeling Jesuit University at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 22, offered by the Rev. Michael Steltenkamp, SJ. You are also invited to a celebration of Josh’s life from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, June 25th at the Salvation Army in South Wheeling.
