JACOB WILSON

Jacob Michael Wilson, 28, of Glen Dale, WV passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale.

Born May 23, 1989 in Wheeling, WV, son of Dani Jo (Canestraro) and Mike Wilson of Glen Dale.

Jacob was a 2008 graduate of John Marshall High School; member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Glen Dale; avid hunter and fisherman. Fishing was Jacob’s true love in life.

He was an inspector and hard bander in the gas and oil fields. Jacob was employed by Southern Tool Inspection, JLE and Inspection Oil Fields Services, where he was a level II inspector. He was often called “Swiss Army Knife” because of all the certificates that he had earned.

Jacob was proud that he was an organ donor, hoping that one day his death could lead to a new life for his organ recipient.

Jacob was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rich “Pap” and Joan “Baka” Canestraro; and paternal grandfather, Donald Wilson.

In addition to his parents, Jacob, is survived by his sister, Holly (Joe) and their children, Gwen and Richie Blatt, all of Morgantown, WV; paternal grandmother, Barbara Wilson of Williamstown; three aunts, Sue Huggins, Jane Wilson (Godmother) and Bobbi Cranston; two uncles, John Wilson (Godfather) and his “Hinton” fishing trip buddy, Rik Canestraro – basically his best friend growing up who taught him how to hunt and fish; his girlfriend, April Burkett of Glen Dale; Ed Brinkman, his remodeling brother; and Rick Grrzeszczak his 4-Wheeling, hunting brother with tons of crazy stories to tell on for years.

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday December 9, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby & Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Ave., Moundsville, followed by a Memorial Mass at St. Francis Xavier Church at 11:30 a.m. with Rev.
