BARBARA KURKO

On Saturday morning, January 6, Barbara Lee (Fuller) Kurko died surrounded by her loving family at CAMC Memorial hospital in Charleston, WV.

Born and raised in Steubenville OH, Barbara graduated from Steubenville high school in 1967. In 1969, she married her one true love Samuel Kurko Sr. at Finley Methodist Church, in Steubenville Ohio.

Barbara was a faithful, long time member of Bethany Baptist Church. She was very involved in the Ladies Circle and she served as Card Chairperson. Even when health issues recently kept Barbara from attending church services she continued to check in on other members who were also sick. Despite her illness Barbara was always thinking of others before herself. She had a big heart and was always looking to help others. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved talking about them and sharing their pictures. She touched the lives of all of those around her and she will dearly be missed by everyone that was lucky enough to know her.

She leaves behind her husband of 48 years, Sam; her two sons, Samuel Kurko Jr. and his wife Pamela of North Providence, RI; Robert Joseph Kurko and his wife Michelle of Sissonville; her only daughter, Rebecca Ann Stratton of Winfield. She also leaves behind her three beloved grandchildren Emalie Elizabeth, Joseph Michael and Sage.

She is predeceased by her oldest brother Frank E. Fuller husband of Debra of Winterville, Ohio.

She leaves behind her four surviving brothers Michael A. Fuller of Aliquippa PA, Thomas D Fuller, wife Missy, Stacey E. Fuller, and Richard Fuller all of whom currently reside in Steubenville, OH. She leaves behind her two sisters Juanita J. Welsh, husband William of Steubenville, OH and Connie Donovan of Sarasota, FL; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements are being handled by Barlow Bonsall Funeral Home. In lieu of a funeral the family will be having a Celebration of Life remembrance service come this spring, date to be determined.
