Donald Lee Showalter, 80, of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018, in Liza’s Place.
He was born on July 26, 1937, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Charles and Grace St. Myers Showalter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rhea McLaughlin Showalter; one brother, John Showalter; and one sister, Clara Showalter.
Mr. Showalter was a retired mechanic for Tower Lines, a member of Fourth Street United Methodist Church, and a U.S. Army veteran.
Don was a member and Past Master of Bates Lodge No. 33, member of Ohio Lodge No. 1, Wheeling Assembly No. 13 of the Rainbow, Miriam No. 1 of the Eastern Star, White Shrine of Jerusalem and the Order of Amaranth, Past High Priest of Wheeling Union Chapter No. 1, Past Commander of Wheeling Commandery No. 1, Past Grand Commander of Commandery of Knights of Temple of State of West Virginia, Past Prior of Fort Henry No. 61 York Rite College, Past Pussisant Souvereign of Red Cross Constantine, Past Prior of the A.M.D., Past H.R.A.K.T.P., Saint Thomas of Acon, Past Monarch of the El Tor Grotto, 32-Degree Mason and Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.
Donald is survived by his sons, Donald L. Showalter Jr., and Dan L. Showalter; two brothers, James (JoAnn) Showalter, Ted (Linda) Showalter; three sisters, Marjorie Korpon, Jean (Thomas) Coffman, Judy (David) Kirker; six grandchildren, Donnie, Kristopher, Nickolas, Courtney, Summer, and Stefan; and two great-grandchildren, Natalie and Piper.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 3545 Jacob St., South Wheeling, WV, where services will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Glen Baker officiating.
Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
Moundsville Honor Guard will conduct graveside military services.
