Sandy O’Haver, 74, of Canton, OH, formerly of Wheeling, WV, passed away Friday, Feb. 2, 2018.
She was born in East Cleveland, OH, on May 24, 1943, to the late Richard and Jeanne (Whitehead) Elliston.
She was a graduate of Mentor High School. Sandy was employed with the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley for over 30 years and retired as the associate director.
The United Way honored her lifelong dedication to volunteerism and her selfless concern for the needs of others in the community by naming their annual day of caring as the “Sandy O’Haver Day of Caring.”
Sandy’s greatest joy in life was spending and enjoying time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her sisters, Donna Broyard of Key West, FL, and Roberta VanDorsten of Canton, OH; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews.
Per Sandy’s wishes, a private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
