ANTHONY SALATINO

Anthony “Tony” Ralph Salatino, 85, of Wellsburg, WV, died peacefully on Monday, March 26, 2018 at Liza’s Place in Wheeling, WV.

Tony was born on April 10, 1932, in Follansbee, WV, a son of the late Domenic and Josephine (Natale) Salatino. In addition to his parents, Tony was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Beth Salatino; granddaughter, Shawna Salatino; seven brothers, Kenny, Joseph, Rocco, Freddy, Mike, and Joe Salatino, and Pete Marzano, and one sister, Lucy Masi.

Tony graduated from Follansbee High School in 1951 and went on to serve in the Army during the Korean War. Tony later retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corporation where he worked for many years as a motor inspector. He was also an avid golfer, and a carpenter.

Tony is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Salatino of Wellsburg, WV; four children: Roxanne (Salatino) Mears of Wellsburg, WV, Mark (Pam) Salatino of Follansbee, WV, Janey (Salatino) Darmafall of Florence, SC, and Anthony (Kathi) Salatino of Wheeling, WV; seven grandchildren, Melissa Salatino of Follansbee, WV, Jennifer Darmafall of Los Angeles, CA, Megan (Billy) McKenzie of Weirton, WV, Kristen Darmafall of Florence, SC, and Troy Salatino and fiancee Emilee Heilman of Wheeling, WV, Tyler and Emily Fader both of Wheeling, WV; two brothers, Domenic (Gala) Salatino, Jr. of Weirton, WV, and Ralph (Jackie) Salatino of Follansbee, WV; two sisters, Carmen Smith and Rose Kovalcheck, both of Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28 from 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 1300 Charles St., Wellsburg, WV until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at noon with the Rev. Fr. Dan Pisano as celebrant.

Inurnment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Full military honors will be conducted by the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Mullenbach Funeral Home.
