James M. Butterworth, 50, resident of Wheeling, WV, died Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling.

He was born in Wheeling on November 4, 1967, son of the late Lester H. Butterworth and the late Kathleen Falkenstein Butterworth.

He was a special education teacher at Brooke High School, a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph, and a veteran of the United States Air Force.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Clara Stott Butterworth.

Surviving is his mother, Pam Butterworth Moore and her husband, Jerry; 3 brothers, Joe Butterworth and his wife, Kirsten, Travis Minzler and his wife, Wendi, and Dennis Minzler and his wife, Vicky; 1 sister, Leslie Huffman and her husband, Paul; 4 nieces and 4 nephews. To family and friends he was referred to as “Uncle Bubble.”

Friends will be received on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV, 26003 from 10 a.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. with Mr. Brad Schrum officiating. Moundsville Honor Guard will provide military honors.

Interment will be at Park View Memorial Gardens, Wheeling, at the convenience of the family.
