Lana L. Strauss died September 8, 2018, at 76 years of age.

She was a beloved wife, mom, grandmother and friend who was alternately known as MiMi to her grandchildren and Miss Lana to all of the children she shaped through her life’s work of educating children. She lived bravely, freely and fiercely. She cherished every breath and every moment of her beautiful life, being fully present for so many and loving and guiding all of us with intention

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, George Strauss; her son and daughter-in-law, George “Moose” and Hollie Strauss and her daughter and son-in-law, Shawn and Tammi Leonard.

Her life revolved around her three adoring grandchildren, Charce Cyrus, Collin Leonard and Cameron Leonard. She was loved and respected by many life-long, dear friends and relatives.

The pain we feel is the price of a love that transcends all time. But we have faith that the next time we see her, we will never have to say goodbye again and, until that day, we will work to honor her name and love each other, as she loved each of us.

Lana knew that the meaning of life is to find your gift; the purpose of life is to give it away. Lana Strauss gave all of us a love we will treasure until our own last breaths.

Family will receive friends Wednesday from 1-3 & 5-7 p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Road, Bethlehem/Wheeling. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Wheeling.

In lieu of flowers, Lana requested that donations be made, in her memory, to St. Michael’s Parish School.
