Shawn Elliott “S.T.” Thomas, 56, of Wheeling went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, September 5, 2018.
He was born November 1, 1961 in Wheeling, the son of Ann Thomas and the late Clyde Thomas of Wheeling.
Shawn was a Linsly School graduate, where he was a stand-out athlete in both football and basketball. He was also a favorite of the yearly extravaganza. Shawn attended West Liberty State College. He began singing R & B, gospel and country music at the age of 12 and was a local staple in the music field in Wheeling, performing with the regional band, Crystal Ball during the 1980’s and ’90’s. He sang at Jamboree USA, opening the show for country favorites Ronnie McDowell, The Oak Ridge Boys and Leeann Womack. He was a fanatical Steeler Fan, a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Wheeling, a former employee at the Kepner Funeral Home, Wheeling and former employee for the city of Wheeling.
In addition to his father, Shawn was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents.
Surviving in addition is his mother, his loving wife of seven years who stood beside him in the best and worst of times, Kathy Stefnik Thomas; his daughter, Carrie Thomas; the loves of his life, his grandchildren, Weston and Viktor; his brother, Scott Thomas; his twin niece and nephew, Ajah and Elijah and his very special uncles Charles “Freddy” Thomas and Wade Augerbright Jr.
Friends are invited to attend “A Celebration of Shawn’s Life” on Monday, September 10, 2018 from 11 a.m. until the time ofmemorial service at 1 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church , 1232 National Rd, Wheeling with the Reverend Jake Steele officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in the Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling. Arrangements by the Kepner Funeral Home, 1308 Chapline St, Wheeling (304- 242-2311).
