Shirley J. McCracken, 81, of New Martinsville, WV formerly of Cameron, WV, died Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at home, surrounded by her family.

She was born February 2, 1937 in Clouston, WV, the daughter of the late Franklin and Audrey Cunningham Dunn.

She was a retired employee from Kroger’s; a member of Pine Street Church of Christ, New Martinsville; and she loved crocheting, baking, shopping, and playing with her great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McCracken; grand parents, Bentley and Pearl Morris Cunningham; and two sisters, Sandra Hart, and Mary “Sissie” Stickle.

Survivors include two daughters, Sherry (Don) Abel of New Martinsville, and Terrie (Mike) Miske of Winfield, WV; two grand children, Mike (Tara) Abel of York, PA, and Jessica (Jesse) Porter of New Martinsville; four great- grandchildren, Christina and Chase Abel, both of York, and Josselyn and Jalayna Porter, both of New Martinsville; a sister- in-law, Len McCracken of NC; a brother-in-law, Jack Hart, Sr. of Cameron; three nephews, Jack Hart, Jr., and Tom Hart of Cameron, and Rick Stickle of Norfolk; and several cousins.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Cameron Nursing Home, Genesis Nursing Home in New Martinsville, and Journey Hospice.

Family will receive friends on Friday from 6-8p.m. at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville where funeral services will be held Saturday at 1p.m. with Evang. Jeremy Joy officiating.

Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
