Wilma V. Betras, 81, resident of Wheeling, WV, died Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Liza’s Place.

She was born on September 15, 1936 in Bellaire, OH, daughter of the late Jay Elwood and Bertha Viola Marsh Messerly.

Wilma was a retired claims manager with 36 years of service with Blue Cross & Blue Shield; a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church where she volunteered; a member of the Bridgeport Eagles Women’s Auxiliary where she served as chaplain, and was a member of the Elm Grove Lions Club. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and also loved to fish.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas George Betras, Sr.; three sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are her children, Thomas Betras and his wife, Lisa, Marc Betras, Lori Murphy and her husband, Thomas, and Lyn Betras; two grandchildren, Danielle and Eli Kutrovac; several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwood Avenue, Wheeling, WV, 26003 (304-277-2722).

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Father Paul M., C.S.T. as celebrant.

Interment to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
