THOMAS HOYT SR.
Thomas “Tom” Harry Hoyt Sr., 80, of Wheeling, WV, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Wheeling Medical Park.
He was born March 5, 1938 in Wheeling, son of the late Harry W. and Beatrice E. (Reinhardt) Hoyt.
Tom was a retired installer at AT&T, a US Coast Guard Veteran, Plant Manager at Mount De Chantal, Co-owner of H&H Electric, Master Electrician, member of the New Outlook Pioneers, member of the Communications Workers of America, member of St. Michael Catholic Church where he served on the Parish Council and was a Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of C.H.R.P, very active in Cursilla and his love for food and cooking was enjoyed by many.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Joann Calmbacher; brother, Charles “Bud” Hoyt; brothers-in-law, Tom Breiding and Walt Calmbacher and sisters-in-law, Nancy Hoyt and Nancy Lucas.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Sharon L. (Lucas) Hoyt of Wheeling; three children, Tom (Tina) Hoyt Jr., Kim (Mark) Leonard and Lisa (Bob) Seidler all of Wheeling; sister, Lois Ruth “Sis” Breiding of Wheeling; six grandchildren, Adam (Kari) Leonard of Wheeling, Lucas Seidler of Philadelphia, PA; Heather (Matt) Finnell of Pittsburgh, PA, Emily (Aaron) Dailer of Wheeling, Holly Ann Hoyt of Wheeling and Logan (Kathie) Seidler of Wheeling; great- grandchild, Colson “Thomas” Leonard and due in May, a new Baby Dailer; sister- in-law, Patricia (John) Sikora of Colerain, OH; brother-in-law, Ted Lucas of Colerain, OH; special niece and caregiver, Kaleigh Sikora; several other nieces and nephews and Tom’s granddogs and grandcats.
Friends will be received from 12-8 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Wheeling Chapel, 1400 Eoff Street, Wheeling, where a vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 Thursday, November 15, 2018 at St. Michael Catholic Church with Msgr. Jeremiah McSweeney serving as Celebrant.
Interment will follow Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling.
