MARY RUSHKEVICH

Mary Therese Rushkevich (Hasenauer), 94, of Wheeling (formerly of Bethlehem), passed away peacefully on January 1, 2019, at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, where she had resided for the past eight years.

Mary graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy in Wheeling.

She was a former employee of Cooke-Waite Laboratory of Sterling Drug and a gift wrapper at Stone & Thomas Department Store, and a homemaker. Mary was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (St. Mary’s), and Our Lady of Perpetual Ukrainian Catholic Church, all of Wheeling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, John Rushkevich, who passed away in March of 2000, two brothers, William H. Hasenauer and John Hasenauer, and two sisters, Claire Hasenauer, and Martha Rapp.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Janet (Charles) Kalo, and one loving granddaughter, Mallory (Bradley) Wilson, all of Bethlehem, a sister-in-law, Betty Rushkevich, and several nieces and great nieces and great nephews.

Mary’s family would like to thank Mr. Donald Kirsch and all of the wonderful staff and caring nurses of Good Shepherd Nursing Home, especially second floor center, for their excellent care Mary received while she was a patient there. Thanks also to Amedisys for their excellent care during Mary’s last days.

Friends will be received Friday, January 4, 2019, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger Street, Elm Grove, Wheeling, WV.

A vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 5, 2019, at 10 a.m., at Good Shepherd Nursing Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
