Clyde William “Casey” Caseman, 90, of Wheeling, WV, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at his home.
He was born February 4, 1929, in Brooke County, WV, son of the late William M. and Ilo Bonar Caseman.
He was an Army Veteran who served during the Korean War and a member of West Liberty Christian Church.
Clyde enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved genealogy and was the expert about family and local history. He spent as much time as possible each summer at Lake Seneca Resorts in Senecaville, Ohio, and was always up for a game of Euchre.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Alicia McCombs Caseman; grandson, Robert Caseman Miller; two sisters, Dorothy Wheeler and Eura Caseman; and brother, Carl Caseman.
He is survived by his four daughters, Holly J. Caseman, Amy (Robert) Miller, Lou Ann (Rick) Ray and Kelly (Scott) Beatty; five grandchildren, Ashley (Brian) Dunn, Nick (Alyssa Duncan) Miller, Ethan (Katherine Dentz) Otte, Patrick Beatty and Kate Beatty; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Evie Lou; brother, Joseph W. Caseman; numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Jiggs.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Clyde’s care givers at IC Care and Amedisys Hospice.
Honoring Clyde’s wish, his family donated his body to science at WVU Human Gift Registry in Morgantown, WV.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at West Liberty Christian Church, 742 Van Meter Way, West Liberty, WV.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to West Liberty Christian Church or to Ohio County Animal Shelter.
