Harold “Butch” Bowman
Harold “Butch” Bowman, 68, of Wheeling, passed away Monday, August 12, 2019 at Wheeling Hospital as the result of an accident.
He was born September 25, 1950 in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Harold Earl and Donna Lou Miller Bowman.
Butch was a retired steel worker and guard from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Yorkville Plant, with 40 years of service. He was a member of the Wheeling Island Christian Church. He was on the reunion committees for Wheeling High School Class of 1969 and Center Wheeling. He enjoyed fishing, camping, reading and was an artist. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-son, Joseph Scott Dowdell.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Betty Fife Bowman; one son, Harold “Buddy” (Kim) Bowman of Wheeling; two daughters, Eliza (Max Leppert) Bowman of Wheeling and Stephanie (Jimmy) Eudaley of Greenville, MO; two step-daughters, Sherry Dowdell and Joy Filius, both of Wheeling; one step-son, John “Andy” Little of Wheeling; foster son, Arthur Spoon of Wheeling; two sisters, Cathy Bowman of Wheeling and Donna (Roy) Edge of Bridgeport, OH; 13 grandchildren; five great-granddaughters; niece; nephews; great- nephew and his faithful dog, Jack.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 1 Ridgecrest Road, Bethlehem, Wheeling, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Mayer officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Wheeling.
