Put Rep. McKinley On Veterans Panel
Typically, members of major committees in the U.S. House of Representatives are not asked to serve on other committees. Presumably, the idea is to hold down their workloads.
Rep. David McKinley, R-W.Va., is a member of the Energy and Commerce Committee. While that is considered one of those major appointments, McKinley also wants to serve on the Veterans Affairs panel.
McKinley is deeply concerned about how veterans of military service are treated, and has important ideas to help them.
As his fellow representatives may have noticed, McKinley is a workhorse capable of handling two committees. House leaders should keep him on the energy and commerce panel – and add him to Veterans Affairs.
