Protect Yourself, Others Against Flu
Still feeling lucky about not having gotten that shot to protect you against influenza this year? Don’t. The odds against you are not good.
By mid-December, more than 10,000 cases of the flu had been reported in West Virginia. That is the highest total by that time in five years.
Flu season usually peaks in January or February, but the disease’s progress this year has been more rapid than normal. Still, there are several weeks left in which many Mountain State residents will be exposed to flu viruses.
Flu vaccine can be obtained at many locations in our area. If you can afford it and/or you have insurance covering it, we encourage you to get immunized as soon as possible. You will be safeguarding yourself and others with whom you come in contact.
Think about it – seriously – today.
