Alarmists Stymied By Calmer Weather
You may remember that for a couple of years, severe heat waves, strong hurricanes and vicious tornadoes plagued some regions of the country. “Climate change” was to blame, insisted President Barack Obama and cronies who want to destroy the coal industry.
But if climate change causes severe weather, how to explain this year?
Government weather analysts note the number of tornadoes this year has been near a record low.
Temperatures have been mild in most of the United States.
Only about one-fifth the normal number of hurricanes have been spotted in the Atlantic Ocean.
It has been eight years – the longest period on record – since a major hurricane (with winds of 110 mph or more) came ashore on the mainland.
Weather analysts have a variety of explanations. Climate change seldom is mentioned.
But then, conscientious professionals weren’t citing it when there were lots of hurricanes and tornadoes and a few brutal heat waves.
All in all, the weather has been nice in much of the United States this year.
Any comment on that, Mr. President?
