OSBORNE, Ann Louise Laupp, died on September 8, 2013, at The Home of the Good Shepherd in Wheeling, WV. She was 96 years old.
A recent resident of Georgetown Commons in Wheeling, she was born May 22, 1917, in Wheeling, a daughter of Hugo E. Laupp and Margarette Wood Laupp.
She was a graduate of Triadelphia High School and attended Duke University where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity. She was also a member of the Ohio Valley Alumnae Club of Pi Beta Phi, earning her 50 year membership pin.
After college she attended Elliott’s Business School in Wheeling and landed a job as a secretary with Pennsylvania & West Virginia Supply Corporation in Triadelphia. She worked there for several years until she married John G. Osborne in 1940.
Ann was an active 50 year member of the Louise Reed Circle of the King’s Daughters where she held several offices. She was also a former member of the Board of Directors of the King’s Daughters. In addition she was a member of the Junior League of Wheeling, and served on the Board of Directors of the Salvation Army.
She was a member of Vance Memorial Church where she was a Deacon and Elder. She was a member and Treasurer of the Willow Twig of the Ohio Valley Medical Center. She was a volunteer at the Ohio Valley Medical Center for 15 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister (Peggy Laupp Staton in 1980), and her husband of 61 years, John G. Osborne in 2001.
Surviving are a son, John E. Osborne and his wife, Susan of Wheeling; a daughter, Sue Abraham and her husband Tom of Wheeling; six grandchildren: Zachary Abraham and his wife, Carrie, Seth Abraham and his wife, Audrey, and Matthew Osborne and his wife, Melody, all of Wheeling; John Mark Osborne and his wife, Aida of Chino Hills, CA; Dr. Benjamin Osborne and his wife, Kathy of Northampton, MA; and Kaitlin Beining and her husband, Joshua of San Jose, CA; eleven great- grandchildren: Spencer Abraham, Addie Abraham, Cooper Abraham, Sophie Abraham, Owen Abraham, Lily Osborne, and Tessa Osborne all of Wheeling; Patrick Osborne and Reilly Osborne of Northampton, MA; and Kaylie Beining and Noah Beining of San Jose, CA; and two nieces: Pamela Staton Genson and her husband, Don of Fort Collins, CO and Melinda Staton Zentgraf of Aiken, SC.
Friends will be received Friday, September 13, 2013, from 4-7 p.m. at Kepner Funeral Home, 900 National Rd., Wheeling (304-232-2732). A service will be held Saturday, September 14, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church, 905 National Rd., Wheeling, with Rev. Dr. Charles D. LaPlaca officiating. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
