State, Federal Efforts Paying Off
Some time ago, we urged state and federal law enforcement agencies to do more to help Jefferson County residents in what seemed to be a losing battle against illegal drugs and violence.
It appears the response has been forceful – and, at least to some extent, fruitful.
Last week a Jefferson County grand jury indicted six people on federal drug and/or gun charges. Other indictments may be in the works.
Earlier this month, a series of raids resulted in several high-profile drug arrests in the county.
Local law enforcement agencies have been key partners in the action. But state and federal agencies clearly are taking very active roles.
The help is appreciated. Keep up the good work!
