Important Issues On Ballot Today

Turnout for early voting in Ohio has been low. We hope that is not an indication of how it will be during the primary election today.

Voters often fail to pay much attention to primary elections, even though they often include very important ballot questions.

Residents of several areas of East Ohio will be deciding local issues including renewal of the East Ohio Regional Transit Authority levy. Four school funding issues also are on the ballot.

Often, voters are given no opportunity to decide how much they will pay in taxes or how the money will be used. Local tax referendums provide that, along with the ability to decide the future of public schools.

Polls will open at 6:30 a.m. today and close at 7:30 p.m. That should provide plenty of time for anyone who wants to vote to cast a ballot.

And if you are a registered voter, you should want to vote.

Take the opportunity to have a say in affairs that affect you. Vote.
