Clinton Coverup Starts to Unravel

Once she got caught with her hand in the national security cookie jar, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton scrambled to cover up her recklessness. New evidence of that has surfaced because, unfortunately for Clinton, she left a trail of cookie crumbs, so to speak, with some of her aides.

It is known that Clinton set up a private server for official emails, in violation of government policy. She was made aware of that rule, said she would comply with it, then made a conscious decision not to do so.

It also is known that many of the emails that flowed through the server at Clinton’s home contained secret material. Her failure to use only secure State Department email servers may have allowed hackers working for foreign governments to gain access to the messages.

Others have been prosecuted for lesser breaches.

Once investigators began looking into the Clinton email affair, she and some of her aides — and quite possibly, some officials still working in the State Department –began trying to cover up the electronic trail of her misdeeds.

But both Congress and the FBI have demanded every scrap of information either the State Department or Clinton possess on the matter.

Just a few days ago, reporters gained confirmation from the State Department that Clinton had failed to turn over a critical message. It was to then-Deputy Chief of Staff Huma Abedin, and it discussed her use of a private email server.

Clinton did not turn that message over to investigators. But it surfaced in material given to them by Abedin.

Discovery of the message makes it clearer than ever that Clinton is not cooperating with investigators – and in fact is engaged in a coverup operation. Just such a coverup, it may be remembered, forced Richard Nixon to resign the presidency.
