Making Miracles Happen in Valley

So many tragedies, frequently caused by truly evil people, seem to fill the news that when miracles wrought by good men and women occur, they are worth special attention.

Here’s one: This week, officials in Yorkville celebrated the rescue of a child several weeks ago.

Little Corey Smith Jr., 2, had fallen into a swimming pool. When found, he was floating in the water, unconscious. His family called for help.

Yorkville paramedics responded, quickly and decisively. They saved the child’s life. He will be fine.

How easily the situation could have been a tragedy! Yet, because of first responders typical of hundreds of others throughout our valley, the story has a happy ending.

Bless those who saved the little boy — and the many others, both professionals and volunteers, in our valley who stand ready to make similar miracles happen.
