Letter carriers say thank you for help with food drive

On May 14, the National Association of Letter Carriers held the “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive.

In order for it to be successful, it takes a lot of help which we receive every year. I personally would like to thank the Carpenters Union, Mountain State Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Domino’s Pizza, Riesbeck’s and all the media for their time and support to this worthy cause.

The rainy day and election probably accounted for the slight difference from the amount received the previous year. Thanks also to the city carriers, rural carriers and retirees whom all volunteered unselfishly to give back and responsibly serve others.

As Abraham Lincoln said, “We cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today.”
