Thanks to all who helped make Hlebiczki benefit steak fry a success
On Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, my wife and I put together a benefit steak fry for our neighbors, the Hlebiczkis, of Wheeling. Having been a resident of the Ohio Valley my entire life I was aware of the community support and generosity of many of the local businesses, politicians, and residents, but I was overwhelmed by the showing displayed by all. Donations came in from Pittsburgh businesses and residents from 19 states. We were truly blessed.
I would like to thank these people now and ask the residents of the Ohio Valley to remember these organizations next time you can’t decide where to shop, eat, play, or even who to vote for (ha-ha).
Our primary donors, Joe Roxby, Ohio County Magistrate; the Original Nardone Chiropractic and Wx (Benwood), and Paul “P.K.” Klenowski and the Clarion University Criminal Justice Society were the first to help out. Without these three we never would have gotten off the ground.
A very generous donation by Becker-Mining and affiliates allowed for all of our costs to be covered; additional support from Shawn Fluharty (House of Delegates) who supplied all of the charcoal and additional donations capped the evening.
However, I have to take the time to thank each of these businesses and individuals: the Road Hogs Band (donated their time and put on a great show), Orphy Klempa (Commissioner), Mike Ferro (House of Delegates), Erikka Storch (House of Delegates), Ryan Ferns (House of Delegates), Natalie Tennant (Secretary of State), Patti Murphy (Magistrate), Lamar advertising, Mad Mex Restaurant of Pittsburgh, Legume Restaurant of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Wheeling Nailers, the Washington Wild Things, Tony’s Spa, Nini’s Treasures, Play It Again Sports, Miklas Meat Market, Eat N Park, Le’Sorv Photography, Smoker Friendly (Highlands), Hardee’s (National Road), Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Little Caesar’s, Defelice, Imperial Display, Karen Nixon (Pampered Chef), Uncle Pete’s, Tumbling Tots, Oliver’s Pies, Quaker Steak and Lube, Louie’s Hotdogs, Bethani’s Boutique, Straub Honda, Elm Grove Dodge, Figarettis, Wendy’s of Elm Grove (all paper products donated), 19th Hole, Coach’s Bar and Grill (McMechen), Gerrero’s, Krogers, Toy and Train Museum of Wheeling, Carnegie Science Center, Ohio Valley Children’s Museum, Wheeling Hospital, Dream Cleaners, Panhandle Cleaning, Wheeling Park High School, Oglebay Golf, Oglebay Resorts, Mountaineer Race Track, Wheeling Island Casino, Generations, Olive Garden, CA House, Oglebay Zoo, Bishop Donahue High School, Linda Comeroski, Kimberly Erbacher-Rykowski, Keenan and Keenan Reality, Crissy Clutter and the Clutter Foundation, Jodie Hunt, Pickles, Schmidt Brothers, Angie Salatino (Scentsy), Robin Murphy (Scentsy), Chesapeake Energy, Wheeling Coffee, Traci Canestraro (Miche), Vic Canestraro Dentistry, Dawn Bell, Jill and Mark Eddy, John and Peg Taylor, Jenny O’Dell and Jebbia’s Market, United Dairy, Zambito Dentistry, K.E.Y.
