Event Provided Help For Home for Boys

We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you from the St. John’s Home for Children in Elm Grove, to the community for your support of our annual “Pitch for Kids” cornhole tournament. The tournament was held on Oct. 13 at Wheeling Jesuit University. A special thank you to Wheeling Jesuit for the use of your beautiful facilities. Thank you to Little Ceasar’s Pizza, Riesbeck’s Food Market and Wheeling Jesuit Parkhurst Food Service for providing refreshments for our event. What began as an orphanage 156 years ago, the St. John’s Home for Children, today ministers to boys ages 8 to 14 from throughout West Virginia who are the victims of abuse and neglect or who display behavioral issues. More than 6,000 cases of child abuse are reported each year in West Virginia. The St. John’s Home of Children collaborates with several West Virginia agencies to provide care to our most vulnerable population – our children. We recognize that these are difficulties times for everyone financially. We are so grateful and blessed for all of the community support we have received.
