Let’s Really Protect All the Children
My name is Greg Mormanis, and I live out here in the Valley Grove area.
I don’t know what you can and cannot get away with printing in the newspaper, but I’ve got something that’s been eating at tme since I saw it on television and if there is anyway you can print it and make sure our president Mr. Obama could see it I would feel a whole lot better.
Since the shooting at the school in Connecticut, I have been, like most other people, trying to make some kind of sense of it. Asking myself why things like this have to happen. How could someone do something like this … to innocent children?
I remember seeing Mr. Obama on Fox News when this tragedy happened, addressing our nation about how horrific of a crime had occurred, and he was oh, so right about that, but to see him stand there wiping tears from his face while he was giving his spech was a little more than I could handle. Not that tears shouldn’t have been shed … a whole lot of them, but to hear him say to protect our children we need to pass meaningful gun control issues.
I’m not going to get into that one way or the other, but I think the way he handled this was more of an illustration of how low he will stoop to promote his agenda of gun control and use a tragic incident like this one as an excuse, a reason to do something that’s been on the back burner for a long time … gun control.
Now, here’s the part that makes me sick about the whole thing. Mr. Obama goes on television and says he’s going to pass meaningful legislation to protect our children. In his first term in office, he fought tooth and nail for legalized abortion … even partial-birth … a full-term baby we are talking here, to be legally dispatched for whatever reason. So what is he telling me? It’s OK to end the life of a child as long as you do it with a scapel, or a pair of forceps, or in a partial-birth case maybe a pair of scissors? Just not an AK-47 assault rifle.
In my way of thinking, the end result is the same no matter what the method. So Mr. Obama, if you were truly serious about protecting our children, then do just that – protect our children and close the doors on the abortion clinics. Really protect our children and stop insulting the American people’s intelligence by stepping so low as to exploit a truly tragic situation to promote trying to disarm Americans.
