Paying Tribute To Charlie Wilson

Editor, News-Register:

About Charlie Wilson: When I heard you had died I just sat down and cried. You had been a family friend from beginning to end. You were a friend in need, indeed. When you’re truly the best, words just can’t express. Gender, color, race, creed, you were there for all our needs. You did all you could to make the valley proud but what we loved was when you smiled.

You were a gift from God to us. He sent to us through you. With nothing nice to say, you wouldn’t have been worth our time of day. If you had seldom shared your gifted smile, you wouldn’t have been quite worth our while.

Well, we’re gonna keep you forever, but only in our hearts. For when God called you home, Mr. Wilson, you did your gifted part.

Thanks, Charlie.
