Get Involved to Protect Water
I would like to remind everyone that the Ohio County Planning Commission meets this Monday at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chambers. Greenhunter is scheduled to present their plan for the proposed Greenhunter fracking waste facility, which is located in Warwood about 1.2 miles upstream from our public water treatment facility.
Many questions and concerns have been raised about Greenhunter’s proposed frack waste treatment facility. I am encouraging concerned citizens to attend this meeting on Monday.
Next, the FACT-OV Meeting is Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Ohio County Public Library. All are invited and welcome to attend this meeting.
Also, I would like to invite everyone to an Awareness Rally which is being held on Saturday, June 15, from noon to 4 p.m. in Garden Park in Warwood. There will be children’s activities, live music, and information. More information on the Awareness Rally can be found at www.facebook.com/Wheelingwaterwarriors.
Everyone is invited and welcome to participate in this event. Anyone wishing to volunteer to help with this Awareness Rally can message Wheeling Water Warriors on Facebook, too.
Last, the next Wheeling City Council Meeting is Tuesday, June 18 at 5:30 p.m.
I have listed many opportunities for everyone to get involved. I hope you all can get involved. “No one can do everything, but everyone can do something.”
