Doing the Right Thing

Editor, News-Register:

Voting for the “skinny” repeal of the ACA without a solid plan of replacement passed is an absolutely ridiculous idea. Representatives for the residents of West Virginia have an obligation to vote in our best interest. Luckily, I have work sponsored insurance. However, many of my fellow citizens do not.

Furthermore, West Virginians are ranked highest in preventative health problems such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension and smoking. Revoking any access to care these people have is criminal. Truthfully, it is terrifying to me that I can’t trust in elected officials. It’s frustrating to feel it necessary to send correspondence every time a controversial bill is up for debate. I want to be able to believe that my representative will just do the right thing.
