Defend 2nd Amendment

When one reads various articles in the newspapers, watches night-time talk show hosts and their guests and listens to the leftist news on “TV and Radio, their opinions on the 2nd amendment are becoming out of control.

It is easy for the members of the entertainment industry and some politicians to back the confiscation of firearms from the general population, while many of them live in guarded communities, have armed body guards and private plainclothes security protecting them and their families. How many of the average citizens can afford to have this type of protection?

The recent comments on Saturday Night Live about allowing only the purchase of one gun per person with six bullets are ridiculous. There is a reason the Founding Fathers included this amendment to the Constitution. Various types of weapons have been in use since the Garden of Eden, when Cain slew Abel. Millions of law-abiding American citizens own legal firearms. It has been said that the Japanese Army did not invade Hawaii because of their fear of the heavily armed population.

One only has to study the various governments that have confiscated their citizens’ weapons to see the results. Confiscation is the next step to domination. Hitler’s Germany, Cuba, North Korea and Venezuela are some of the prime examples. Is this what we want for our country?

According to “This Day in History,” “The largest mass shooting in United States History happened 12-29-1890, when 298 Sioux Indians at Wounded Knee Creek, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota, were murdered by federal agents and members of the 7th Cavalry who had come to confiscate their firearms “for their own safety and protection.” The slaughter began after the majority of the Sioux had peacefully turned in their firearms. The cavalry began shooting and managed to wipe out the entire camp. 200 of the 297 victims were women and children.

Wounded Knee was among the first federally backed gun confiscation attempts in United States history. It ended in the senseless murder of 297 people.

Causes of death in the United States in 2016, as compiled by Occupy Democrats Logic’s Post:

Abortion 501,325

Heart Disease 282,038

Cancer 271,640

Tobacco 160,680

Obesity 140,939

Drunk Driving 15,521

Alcohol Abuse 45,905

Drug Abuse 11,479

Prescription Drug Overdose 6,886

Murder by Gun 5,276

OMG, what? We need gun control!!!!
