Thanks for Help With John Brown ‘Trial

Editor, News-Register:

I am growing tired of the divisive political rhetoric getting in the way of millions of hard-working Americans receiving the relief they deserve– and need — from Congress passing growth-promoting tax cuts.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which the U.S. House of Representatives just passed, will return an estimated $1.5 trillion to working families, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation. In West Virginia alone, we are expected to see almost 5,000 new jobs and an average middle-class family income increase of over $1,500 dollars.

The path to prosperity comes from the individual, not Uncle Sam. But with nearly 80 percent of full-time workers living paycheck to paycheck, our economy continues to suffer at the hand of an outdated tax code.

If we continue to listen to the anti-tax cut rhetoric and stick to the status quo, hard-working Americans will continue to lose the fight for the American Dream.
