Those who discriminate against entire groups of people and work to enact discrimination into law cry foul when they get a taste of their own medicine. Their rallying cry is, “You’re intolerant of my intolerance” and it’s utter nonsense.

Those who discriminate against people of color, immigrants, religious minorities and LGBTQ people hold others to higher standards than they do themselves — they never urge themselves to serve the very groups of people they hate to show just how very tolerant they are. They expect civility and peace but won’t extend it to marginalized people. There can never be “civility and peace” without justice and equality. Remember to vote in November.
