Good Samaritans

Editor, News-Register:

On Sunday, Oct. 28, my husband and I were on 1-70 eastbound on our way to The Highlands. In the area between Wheeling Hospital and the truck weigh station, we hit a large pothole and blew out the passenger side back tire.

Thank goodness we were near the exit by the Marathon Gas Station. We pulled in to the Marathon and got out of the car to assess the damage. At that point, we could hear air escaping from the point of impact on the tire. While my husband was taking the jack and spare tire out of the back of the car a young gentleman (Dave) came over to lend us a hand. Coincidentally, his boss, Patsy was also there and came over to help as well. They proceeded to remove the damaged tire and replace it with the spare tire. We then found out that both people were from Fulton Tire. We have always been patrons of Fulton Tire so that is where I went on Monday morning to purchase a new tire.

With everything that has been going on in the news recently, it was so refreshing to find two good Samaritans who were willing to go out of their way to give of their time to help strangers in need.

Thanks again Dave and Patsy.
