Generosity Praised

Editor, News-Register:

The Staff and Volunteers of the House of the Carpenter would like to thank those who helped to provide Christmas for 392 children this year. There were many individuals, but there were also groups like the Ohio Valley Street Survivors Car Club, The Health Plan, Troy Group, Fredericks, West Liberty, the State Police and their families, school teachers, Warwood Middle School, Forever Media, and countless others.

Every year, the people of the Ohio Valley step up to help those who are struggling to make ends meet at Christmas time. I am a native of the Ohio Valley and come from several generations of Valley people and I know how we all pull together to help each other, in time of crisis and in time of need.

The House of the Carpenter has been around for almost 55 years and though we are here for all people, we especially value our children. We have been blessed with the support from folks not only living in the valley but also those who have left but still have their hearts in the Ohio Valley. It was amazing to have sponsors call us and tell us how the House of the Carpenter touched them and they wanted to give back Those folks sponsored children and used Amazon, UPS, and the Postal Service to send their gifts to the House of the Carpenter, for the children. From the bottom of my heart, I say thank you for once again touching the heart of this “valley” girl. The Ohio Valley is an amazing place to work and serve and I thank the Ohio Valley for making my job a little easier at Christmas because of your generosity. May you all have a blessed New Year full of love, hope, and promise!
