Not A bad Idea

The new pocket park in downtown Wheeling has had mixed reaction from the townspeople. I think anything that is done to change the look of blight in Wheeling has got to be given an A for effort. While I hate the tarp over the old GC Murphy building, I think the pocket park is clever and whimsical enough to distract visitors away from the empty and filthy old buildings. We have a lot of talented artists in this area who could make the pocket parks very interesting as long as the displays are changed on a regular basis. While things are revving up at the Capitol Theatre in coming weeks, don't forget the Victoria Theater always offers some quality shows on the weekends. I hope the tour buses will begin to reappear on a more regular basis in Wheeling. I miss seeing the buses lined up nose to nose along Main Street for a big concert or show.
