Let's talk shopping

October 8, 2011 - Heather Ziegler
I will admit up front that I am not the best shopper. For one thing, I am not into shopping like many women. I usually have a list and pretty much stick to it whether I am grocery shopping or heading to Penney's. I will admit it doesn't always work at Penney's because I know where to look for the bargains (that one shelf where the sheets are sold) for some really good deals. One trend I find disturbing are the sales for buy one get one half price. I don't want two ....I just want a decent price on one item. I do like the buy one, get one free deals because they usually are pretty fair. You cannot beat the English roasts at Kroger and the buy one get one free is even better. I just don't get that whole thing of buying 20 jars of mayonaise just because you have worked the coupon system so that you get them at a real eap price. Isn't that hoarding? Another sad trend is that many of the larger department stores no longer have a credit office in the stores. Sure, you can pay your bill at any cash register, but no more face to face with the credit folks. Times they are a changing...
